Overview

Maranee Stowell has practiced law since 1998. While in law school at Oklahoma City University, she was employed by Westlaw and held various internships with local law firms. Upon graduation, she practiced as in-house counsel for a nationwide corporation, handling a myriad of legal matters in the areas of human resources, workman’s compensation, premise liability, contracts, and contractor licensing. She went on to practice law at a large law firm in Knoxville, litigating in both state and federal court, primarily in the area of construction law. Maranee opened up a private practice in 2019 with a primary focus on estate planning, business and contract law. She came to Kane and Crowell to assist in its thriving estate planning practice.

Maranee is married to Mike Stowell, a former Vol offensive linemen standout at the University of Tennessee. They have four children ages 14-28, spending most weekends attending their children’s various sports related endeavors. Maranee also serves as a board of director for Branches Counseling Services.

Maranee loves the area of estate planning law and desires that her clients feel at ease and confident throughout the estate planning process, knowing their family or business is taken care of if they become incapacitated or pass away.
